I am totally right there with you, but my son is 11. He's had the same problem since he was 5 though...it's SO hard, because I know exactly how he feels because I was "that kid" too. Always hungry! And food always made me feel better. :(
ReplyDeleteStarting with fruits and veggies is a GREAT thing! That's what we are trying to do, too. Also, encourage activity. Make it fun! If she's one of those "organized" kids who likes math or likes having a "goal," get her into a sport where she can shoot for a specific goal. When she sees improvement, it will hopefully prove motivating! And just remind her that she is beautiful no matter WHAT, but that you want her to be healthy as well as beautiful. Good luck, mama!!
Thank you I think I'll need the luck :) took her to a camp instead of staying home with the babysitter-hopefully this will help with some activity thru the day and ill keep working at home. I just can't let this slip. I don't want her to go thru what I went thru-I was that kid too! And it sucks to put it quite bluntly :). Thanks for your insights :)
DeleteEncouraging the fruits and veggies and getting her out and active will help immensely. And once you are able to be more active, you will always be the best role model for her to build an active life. Once she is moving more - any extra weight will peel right off of her :)
